REPORT OF THE FEMALE 2001 SEASON

In the recently concluded 2001 season we played 10 preliminary round games finishing second in our zone, which qualified us for the semi-finals and ultimately our first appearance in a final.

The following is a list of the preliminary games and results for your information:

July 27              Untouchables 0-1
July 29              Maverly/Hughenden 1-0
August 5              Untouchables 2-2
August 8              Blacks United 3-0
August 11              Rae Town 0-0
August 15              Olympic Gardens 1-3
August 18              Maverly/Hughenden 11-0
August 21              Blacks United 2-0

Over all the season was a successful one, if you were to look at results, seeing that this was our first appearance in final. On the other hand though, there is still a lot of work left to be done in the area of discipline. This is an area that I have given serious thought to and have decided that a number of changes will have to be implemented in order to help with this improvement.

We are inviting new players to try out for the club and so far we have met with four such players. These players will be starting as early as this month. This is in order for me to evaluate, not only their talent and discipline, but how well they assimilate in the team.

At our general meeting with players and coaches, we decided to train on Saturdays, starting on Saturday 6, October 2001. We are training with team building as a priority; also we have a proposed tour of the Turks and Caicos Islands which is still to be confirmed.

We are planning several fundraising activities to help with funding this tour. An outline of these fundraisers will be presented to the club for approval, prior to us proceeding.

I would like to take this opportunity again to thank the club executives for their continued support and hope that this will continue.
