The “Stars of the East” Harbour View Football Club continued there good start to the Premier League season with a resounding 3-2 victory over Waterhouse, lead by a brace from Craig Stewart on his return from the United States of America.

Two handsome strikes from distance was the standout feature of a hotly contested game where both teams went “Hell-for Leather” for a prized victory. The top of the table encounter reached fever pitch very early as Stewart slammed a thirty five yard bombshell that kickoff the party and announced the tone of the battle. Surely this must be rated as possibly the best goal of the season so far. Goalkeeper Loxely Ried flew to his left but was successful only in retrieving the ball rolling back into play after scorching the back of the net. Only four minutes had elapsed when the growing crowd buzzed with excitement as Waterhouse served crosses and squares from every conceivable angle as heads bobbed up in a desperate attempt to equalise.

A counter-attack from Demar Phillips was intercepted by Damion Stewart illegally on top of the eighteen yard box, the resulting freekick deflected fortunately for Shane Edwards in the six yard box to squeeze inside the near post and equalise after 26 minutes.

Harbour View rallied and got the go ahead goal when Sean Fraser’s right-sided freekick floated over Jomo Gordon’s head and hit a defender to slip through Reid’s legs and score in minute 37. The half ended when goalkeeper Reid’s long kickout found Edwards to head on to marksman Kevin Lamey in minute 45 to stab home past the advancing goalkeeper Leighton Murray to level the scoreline at the break.

Four goals already had a expectant crowd hungry for more.

The female teams Fish Fry now a regular feature at Harbour View home game along with the concessions at the bar provided a welcome intermission as the second half was preceeded by the entertaining Harbour View Cheerleaders.

The wounded ten man Harbour View found  in the midfield and he worked his way past two defenders to drive home another scorcher from 22 yards out to lead for the third and final time.

In what may seem to be a repeat of the of the opening game again the shot taking on goal was released into the path if an opponent in the six yard box early in the game again the striker accepted the gift to lead 1-0 after only six minutes. The forward this time was ex- Harbour View striker Greg Gardner who must have felt quite at home as he tapped into a empty net from three yards out.

Harbour View were good enough to respond immediately when a corner was headed in by Thomas Grant for his first Harbour View goal at the back post and two minutes later in minute eleven another square was not cleared properly and was duly driven home from close in by Luton Shelton for a two to one lead.

Stunned by the double blow Arlington’s goalkeeper fell to the floor in pain to receive treatment, as his team appeared shell-shocked even after Grant squared again from the left flank for Shelton to tap home from two yards out as the halftime beckoned.

Harbour View 3, Arlington 1.

The rout continued in the second stanza as another goal was added as substitutes Nicholas McCreath found his new partner Jomo Gordon at the penalty spot, to drive home the goal. Luton Shelton was gifted his hatrick when Jermaine Hue’s thirty yards pass split the defence wide open and his foul was greeted with a penalty call. The team allowed the eighteen year old to take it but a brilliant save by the custodian denied him and Harbour View from adding to the score sheet.
