HARBOUR VIEW MAKES A
POSITIVE START TO
2002 CARIBBEAN CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP CAMPAIGN IN CAYMAN. |

Jamaica's
2001-02 Knockout Champions Harbour View Football Club made a
bold move in advancing
to the next round of the Caribbean Club Championship when they
dominated the Caymanian
Champions Georgetown S.C. at the Truman Bodden Stadium to win
by three goals to nil.
A double strike from rookie Jomo Gordon in minutes 27 and 46,
orchestrated by slick left-sided
combinations firstly by Craig Stewart then by Jermaine Hue
ended with Gordon tapping into an
empty net from six yards.

The coup de grace came in minute 55 when the leader of the
band Jermaine Hue started another
midfield surge that culminated with a two man one-two about
the top of the penalty box between
Nicholas McCreath and himself, climaxing with the backheel of
McCreath rolling sweetly into the
path of the maestro to blast home.

The return game is scheduled for Sunday October 27th at the
Harbour Football Stadium.

With shrewed precision in finishing the slick Harbour View
attack went to work on their island neighbours from Cayman
Islands with Fabian Taylor leading the rout with an hatrick.
Second half substitute Nicholas McCreath scoring twice
alongside an opening strike from Jermaine Hue and a 91st
minute finale by the left footed Christopher Jackson his first
for the club in local and International football.
The demolision job was pleasing to coach Donovan Hayles as he
looks forward to preparing the team over the next six weeks
throughout the Premier League before journeying to Trinidad
for the higher level of competition bouyed with a 10-1
aggregate scoreline.
The halftime Fashion Show with Models from Miss Harbour View
contest went well and most patrons stayed for an hour after
the game to enjoy the Stage show with Snagga Puss,
Kyan, Captain Barkey, Nesbeth, Chicken, Assassin and some
local Talent from around Harbour View, all accompanied by
Magic Fingers Disco and the smooth selections of Ivor Smith.
Many other patrons enjoyed the sumptous meals from Gloria’s
Restaurant with Port Royal style seafood meals, Nestle drink
samples and a slamming Domino tournament before the game, a
great day was had by all. |
