HIGH DRAMA
UNFOLDED AT TIVOLI AS THE SPIRIT OF HARBOUR VIEW WAS
REKINDLED IN THE MATCH OF THE DAY.
An
intense battle ensued at the beginning of the game as both
teams surged forward with the aim of getting the opening goal.
The honour went convincingly to Tivoli as the smooth striker
Roland Dean sneaked in between defenders to score at the near
post.
One became two soon after, when
the bustling Christopher Nicholas slipped behind defenders to
drive home a 13 yard pile-driver past Leeroy Gray,
establishing a strong 2 – 0 advantage after 30 minutes.
Jomo Gordons’ header against
the post in addition to other efforts by the Harbour View
attacking force, failed to dent the deficit.
The second half saw a brand new
spirit of attack-until-you-die style football from “The View”
as Coach Donovan Hayles delivered a rousing motivational
speech that energized the soldiers into battle. The war of
attacking football that was to unfold was a display rarely
seen in local football history, memories of the epic battles
of the 1970’s and the best of the 1980’s against Boys Town
came flooding back as Harbour View scintillating style of one
touch topped of with magnificent finishing at pace, was how
the team overcame the challenge of coming from two goals down.

Tivolites heart-broken as he scored the third but the coup de
grace was left to the death in the 90th minute for new recruit to control Dino Williams’ pass from the right to
fire home from 27 yards out over the stunned goalkeeper for an
historic win.
Tumultuous applause rang out at
Tivoli by the jubilant Harbour View supporters as praised was
heaped on all the players who hugged each other and great
comfort in victory to Daniel Shaw and coach Donovan Hayles
both of whom were sent off the field earlier.
All Harbour View supporters
congratulates the team and wishes the spirit shown on Sunday
grows from strength to strength as the team progresses, well
done Harbour View –
