Harbour’s 30th Anniversary Any cursory survey into which Jamaican clubs fall within the upper categories of organization, financial viability, consistency, titles, player profile and infrastructure would have to unveil the name, Harbour View Football Club. In the last ten years, which can easily be regarded as the focal point of Jamaica’s football in many areas including development, international acclaim and Competitions, Harbour Football Club has grown in stature and acclaim. The club has been responsive to many of the demands made by the local Federation for senior local clubs to engage the process of professional existence. The Club’s role in grooming and positioning Reggae Boy Ricardo Gardner to be contracted by Bolton Wanderers following Jamaica’s participation in the 1998 World Cup, was the pivot on which other local clubs learned and produced similar efforts for others like Ricardo Fuller, Onandi Lowe, Ian Goodison and Theodore Whitmore, Omar Daley, Claude Davis and more recently, Donovan Ricketts. Even the effort to produced a commemoratory milestone to this extent, is a benchmark for others to attain. The Federation sincerely lauds Harbour View on its 30th anniversary and pledges its commitment to fostering avenues for even greater achievement and sustainability.
